Two homeless men were sat outside, facing a watch shop in Manchester.
I started talking to them and it was raining.
The two guys said to me, ‘You see that tag watch shop over there. Well there’s some nice expensive lumps of metal in there. And they have heating and a roof over their heads. But me and my friend are sat here in the rain, hoping for some sort of help.’
‘But help never comes.’
‘Those watches in the window seem to have more worth than me and my friend here. They’re warm, dry and sheltered. But we are left here to die in the cold.’
‘People walk past us thinking, I bet them two are after robbing that place.’
‘But all we want is a home like those watches.’
